New Tools for drawing Line Segment, Parallelogram, Square, Trapezium, and Altitude
At the extreme right of the Toolbar there are five new tools, namely, Line Segment, Parallelogram, Square, Trapezium, and Altitude.
See below for a brief description of each tool.
LineSegment Tool: It is to draw line segment of any given size and angle from horizontal in the anticlockwise direction. Click the LineSegment tool and then click on the drawing pad. A text box will appear asking for the length of the segment. Type in the length and click OK. Another text box appears asking for the angle from horizontal in degrees. Type in the value for the angle and click OK and the segment is drawn. To draw a horizontal line segment, angle should be zero.
Parallelogram Tool: It is to draw parallelograms. Click on the Parallelogram tool and then click three points on the drawing pad. A labeled parallelogram is drawn completing its fourth vertex.
Square Tool: It is to draw a square with labels of its four sides. Click the Square tool and then click two points on the drawing pad. A labeled square is drawn showing its sides equal to the distance between the two points clicked.
Trapezium Tool: It is to draw isosceles trapeziums. Click the Trapezium tool and then click three points on the drawing pad. An isosceles trapezium is drawn completing its fourth vertex.
Altitude Tool: It can be used to find (i) the altitude or height of a triangle, (ii) a perpendicular from an external point to a line or line segment, (iii) the distance between two parallel lines, etc. Click the Altitude tool and then click on three points. A perpendicular is drawn from the third point to the line joining the first two points showing its length.
